Start with local care
A request is not a substitute for local clinical care, a prescription or an import permit. We do not state that a medicine can enter Ghana until the necessary case details and route have been assessed.
What a case-specific assessment covers
- The prescription, medicine name, strength and patient destination are checked first.
- We assess whether the medicine and documentation could support a lawful, case-specific route.
- If a route can be considered, the proposed medicine details, documentation needs, total cost and delivery arrangement are confirmed in writing before any offline payment decision.
- If we cannot confirm an appropriate route, we do not progress the request as a shipment.
Regulatory information
Ghana’s FDA publishes information about its import and export control remit. The applicable requirements can differ by medicine, importer and case.
