Abiraterone is the active ingredient in Zytiga, used for metastatic prostate cancer (cyp17 inhibitor). Abiraterone blocks the CYP17 enzyme, cutting off testosterone production throughout the body (not just the testes). Starving the cancer of the hormone that fuels it slows its growth.
Taken once daily on an empty stomach with low-dose steroid, exactly as the oncologist prescribes. Never take with food, which greatly increases absorption.
