Capecitabine is the active ingredient in Xeloda, used for breast, colorectal and gastric cancers (oral chemotherapy). It is supplied as a tablet in strengths of 500 mg, 150 mg, made to WHO-GMP standards by established Indian manufacturers.

Capecitabine is a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). It is converted into the active chemotherapy preferentially inside tumour tissue, where it blocks DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cancer cells - oral chemotherapy that concentrates its effect at the tumour.
Taken twice daily with food in cycles (commonly 14 days on, 7 days off), exactly as the oncologist prescribes. Dose is calculated from body surface area and adjusted for kidney function.

Requires oncologist supervision with regular blood monitoring. Patients with DPD enzyme deficiency can have severe toxicity - tell your doctor about prior 5-FU reactions. Interacts with warfarin. Supplied only against a valid specialist prescription via our assisted process.
