What is Osimertinib?

What Osimertinib is used for

  • EGFR-mutation-positive non-small-cell lung cancer (first-line and T790M-resistant)

How Osimertinib works

Osimertinib is a third-generation EGFR tyrosine-kinase inhibitor. It selectively blocks mutated EGFR signalling (including the T790M resistance mutation) that drives certain lung cancers, and crosses into the brain to treat CNS spread.

How to take Osimertinib

Usual dose is 80 mg once daily, with or without food, as directed by the treating oncologist. Taken continuously while it remains effective.

Available strengths: 40 mg, 80 mg. Always follow your own doctor's instructions.

Tagrisso from India vs Tagrisso in the US

This is not a generic. Tagrisso is Osimertinib, made by the originator, and what we supply is that same originator product sourced on the Indian market - the identical product, from the identical manufacturer, in sealed original packaging. There is no bioequivalence question to ask because there is no substitution: the medicine is the originator's own. For any eligible case, the proposed product and available documentation are confirmed in writing before a patient or caregiver makes a further decision.

How originator product information is assessed

Tagrisso is still under patent in India, so no Indian generic exists and none is sold here. Whether an appropriate access route can be considered for Ghana depends on the prescription, current availability, documentation and destination requirements. Medrack.Health confirms only the details applicable to an individual eligible case.

Ordering Osimertinib for a parent or family member?

A son, daughter, spouse or another caregiver may start a request on behalf of the patient, including from another country. Enter the patient's name exactly as it appears on the prescription. The prescription should come from the patient’s treating clinician; we then assess whether an appropriate route may be available for Ghana.

How a Osimertinib access request is assessed for Ghana

Submit a request with the medicine, strength, patient details and destination. We assess the prescription status and whether an appropriate route may be available. If a case is eligible, the proposed medicine details, documentation, total cost and delivery options are confirmed in writing before you decide whether to proceed.

Medrack.Health is currently focused on Ghana and Kenya. It does not guarantee availability, import approval, customs clearance, delivery timing or supply from a public product page.

This medicine uses our assisted process: your request and prescription status are assessed before any possible next step is discussed.

Why can't I just add this to a cart?

Is this real Tagrisso, or a generic?
